V-Smart Project
The V-SMART research project is a collaborative venture between the Woolcock Institute, Sydney University's Faculty of Medicine and Health, and the Vietnam Government.
TB is a preventable and curable disease, yet still results in 12,000 deaths each year in Vietnam. The V-SMART project uses the latest mHealth technologies to help transform the lives of those suffering from TB.
A support network that reduces stigma.
The project tracks a patient's physical and mental health journey while providing a support network to reduce the stigma associated with TB patients in Vietnam.
- Dual interfaces — patients choose a Patient or Admin interface at first use, which then becomes their standard view.
- Push and in-app notifications sent from patient to admin and vice versa.
- Bi-lingual interface (English / Vietnamese) plus a choice of 3 personalised themes.
- Analytics dashboard presenting administrators with monitoring indicators from user engagement.
- Community feature enabling patient-to-patient engagement, so no one faces their medical journey in isolation.
- Secure platform approved by the University of Sydney's Cyber Security Governance Lead.
